9-11 Remembered

September 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today, like most Americans, I am remembering the attacks on 9-11. I wish I could go back and erase the day from history. On the 10th, my brother was at the towers with my Uncle on vacation. On the 11th, they ceased to exist. My family is from New York. I was born there and moved when I was 5 as my parents wanted to give me a better life. I cannot complain as I have had a good life. I wouldn’t trade any of it in. On that day though, I wanted to be in New York so badly. I wanted to be with my family. It’s as if I was being called back to experience the pain and suffering of my birthplace.

I don’t believe that I was the only person feeling this way on that horrible day. I think in a way, we all grieved as New Yorkers, as Americans. We stood there, witnessing my generation’s Pearl Harbor. We were angry and we were defiant. Terrorism could not be allowed to win. It’s is with this memory in mind that I urge all those who are spreading the conspiracies about 9-11 to stop. It is time to let people move on and the lies you are spreading about it are only holding people back. There were no remote controlled jets crashing into the towers. There were no charges set int he buildings, waiting to explode. It’s time to move on to do someting more positive. If you have all this time to dedicate to pouring over record after record, frame after frame, you have time to donate to a local shelter, Boys and Girls Club or any of the other thousands of community programs. Spreading lies is not the way to honor those who died.

Tonight I have my DVR set to record a documentary on the History Channel called 102 Minutes that Changed America. If you can, I would urge you to watch it. It’s a compilation of footage that’s never been seen before. Footage people shot on cell phones, cameras and everything else stringing together each of the 102 minutes from the first strike to the collapse of building 2. I am posting a preview below for everyone.
