My Workout Regime

January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

A long time ago, I realized that I was getting fat. My Dr. told me that my blood was actually now a nice alfredo sauce and my arteries were probably looking like the inside of a sausage. I decided, with the urging of my wife to start working out. We bought a NordicTrack.

It is very nice. It weighs about 400 pounds. After the 1st use, it died and the entire console had to be replaced. Maybe this was a sign. Unfortunately, I did not listen.

This is basically what happened..

I decided that I would just end my workout bu turning around and rolling off the back. Little did I know, that plastic siding turns inwards at the back. One foot hit plastic and stopped, the other kept going. I ended up on my back, slid off the end got a nice big rug burn on my back. The treadmill obviously didn’t appreciate my large frame on it and decided to do something about it.

Today I decided not to be cool. When I was done, I hit the stop button and waited for teh belt to come to a hault. I then exited to the side.

The Obama Regime

January 22, 2009 · 3 Comments

I have been reading over the past couple of days about how Guantanamo is going to be closed in a year. Obama apparently does not have a plan in place, other than to close the prison. While I think some horrible things have gone on there, I think you should come up with a plan first, then start the closing. I have this bad bad feeling that they are not going to have a place to take these prisoners, so they will bring them into the U.S. which is a very bad idea. We need to keep possible terrorists OUT of the country, not bring them here. I am very disturbed by the lack of forethought taking place under Obama already. It’s one thing to decide you want steak before looking at a menu, it’s another thing to decide you are closing the jail where we keep possible terrorists before even having a plan in place to move them.

Based on this completely irrational thinking, I think that we should withdraw every troop from Iraq tommorrow. How are they getting home? No clue. Haven’t thought of that yet. Next year, free medical insurance for every man, woman and child! We can afford that, right? Oil independence in a month. We have a fuel alternative, don’t we?

It’s ludicrous. Just like spending $160 million on an inauguration when the economy is in the trash. Why aren’t more people calling him on this? He spent 3 times what Bush did. How about donating that extra $110 million to a shelter to ouse the people that have lost their homes?

Notorious

January 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday I went to see the movie Notorious. As a big fan of Notorious B.I.G., I have been excited about the movie for some time, but I wasn’t sure how good it would be. Well, I am here to say that the movie was very good. It covered his like from boyhood up until his death. Jamal Woolard is great playing Biggie. He takes on the role of this larger than life personality and makes it his own. He makes you believe he IS Christopher Wallace, making the ending of the film even sadder. For a brief moment, he is back, only to be taken from the world again.

Now, this movie definitely is not for everyone. If you are not a fan of the Notorious B.I.G. or rap music in general, the movie will not have the same impact. It’s a good story, but it revolves around the music and lifestyle of hip hop. If you don’t like it or understand it, you really won’t appreciate all the people in the movie. If you are a fan as I was, you will really enjoy this movie. There were several people crying when we walked out. You know how it ends, but that doesn’t make the impact of it any less. He was only 24 when he died. At that time, he was arguably the best rapper of all time.

On to the NFL and today’s games. I like Philadelphia over Arizona, 21-17 and Baltimore over Pittsburgh, 24-17.
